A Shametown Special Exclusive:
An Interview With Nick, owner of the Capital Hideaway Gentlemens Club

Kapitol Magazine recently became aware of the Capital Hideaway, a very low key strip club out in the middle of nowhere (Wynantskill).  Our Shametown editor became very intrigued by this place, having never heard of it before. During his initial investigation of this place, he reached out to Nick, the owner, with some very “hard” questions about his establishment, and about the life of a strip club owner!

KM:  Where are you guys located?
Nick:
We are located at 205 Snyders Corners Road in Wynantskill.  I’d explain how to get there but you might be better off using a GPS.  When it comes to being discreet, we are the obvious choice.  I’ve owned the club 4 years and sometimes I can’t even find it.

KM:  How long have you guys been around?
Nick:
We opened a few years ago and kept a low profile for a while to test out the market and the area. It took a lot of time, money and energy to create the look and feel of the club I wanted.

KM:  Are you guys full nude (juice bar) or do you serve alcohol?
Nick:
Currently we are a full nude juice bar.  However, we are in the process of applying for a liquor license and it’s looking like we may start serving liquor in the spring.

KM:  When I went to your site, the front page greeted me with a picture of a chick that made me instantly cream my pants (seriously, I had to jerk off right away).  Is that the caliber of girls that work at your place?
Nick:
Hey man, sometimes you just gotta whack your bag.  It’s life – I don’t judge.  My web designer/photographer will be happy to know that a reputable capitol region reporter like yourself is frivolously cranking off to his programming.  But yes, we do have really hot girls.  And what makes this club awesome is that we have hot girls that are approachable because this club is intimate and relaxing.  But this business has taught me a lot of about how different guys’ tastes can be.  When I first bought the club, I always tried to find girls that looked the way I like, but that’s wrong.  Every guy has different taste.

KM:  Why the name Capital Hideaway?
Nick:
BONER-AMA was taken!  Capital Hideaway is discreet, It’s alluring, It’s mysterious.  Seriously, when I bought the club a lot of my family did not know.  So, one reason for the discreet name was to avoid the embarrassing family situation of my mom stopping by, checking my mail and saying, “why do you have all this mail in your name made out to the TITTY TERMINAL?

KM:  Here’s your plug.  Tell us what differentiates you from, say, Dicarlos or any other Capital Region strip club?
Nick:
DiCarlos is a diner with topless waitresses. Nite Moves is OK, but I feel their level of money hustle turns off a lot of customers.  We are a no frills, affordable VIP club where you can enjoy the relaxed company of sexy girls and not feel like you got robbed at the end of the night.  Believe it or not, celebrities find us a lot when they pass through the area because they don’t want to be bothered by people.  If you gotta get away from your wife one night, you’re always safe at the Hideaway.  It’s what inspired our ad campaign of “TIGER WOODS WOULD HANG HERE!”

KM:  Is it fun being a strip club owner?  Is it like being Woody Harrelson in The People Vs. Larry Flynt?
Nick:
Owning a strip club is a blast.  There was a learning curve because strip clubs really don’t follow a lot of the traditional principles of business.  But it’s great!  I’ve met so many cool people & beautiful girls.  When you are in the strip club business every guy wants to be your best friend.  I’m so glad I opened a strip club instead of a pizzeria.   We can sometimes have a slow night and I will look around the room and see all these hot naked girls and laugh to myself thinking, “you can’t exactly find joy staring at raw pizza dough!”

KM:  Tell us about some of the talent at your club.
Nick:
After your honesty about my website homepage, I’m nervous that if I describe too much you might slowly start unzipping your fly with me standing right here!

KM:  I actually might, good point!  Now obviously, every night is a good night at a strip club.  What are your busiest nights of the week?
Nick:
Strip clubs are always busiest on the weekends.  But I also enjoy other strip clubs as a patron sometimes and I always feel the best experiences are had on the slow nights where you are more likely to catch the girls attention.

KM:  Are there any special events or dancers planned for the near future ?
Nick:
We have a very special event that we created and we are very proud of.  On Wednesday February 3rd, We are hosting  POLE DANCING LESSONS & PARTY.  The lessons will be taught by dancers at our club.  There will be a $15 Admission price but ALL the proceeds will go to the US Military.  After all the horrible things we see on the news, I want the Hideaway to do our part to try and give a little back to the men and women who protect our country!  I hope Kapitol Magazine will join us that night!

KM:  That is so cool, helping the troops and teaching chicks to use those at-home stripper poles correctly at the same time!!!  Kapitol may just have to make an appearance.  It sounds like LOADS of fun, no pun intended!!!!

Kapitol Magazine would like to thank Nick of the Capital Hideaway for this very interesting and candid interview.  What an awesome guy!!!!   This fuckin’ guy is living the dream!!!!!

Be sure to check out POLE DANCING LESSONS and PARTY on February 3rd at the Hideaway.  Admission is $15.  For more information check out:

This is probably the best article written in Kapitol Magazine. I agree with everything. We did used to have a great music scene in the past. I missed all the great bands we had in the past. Conehead Buddha, the Bruise Bros. Small Axe, Method of Groove, Paddy Kilrain, Bryan Thomas, Attica, Section 8, Hungry Jack, Ralph Renna’s Last Call, Bipolar, etc. Now they’re no longer playing with us, they moved on and gone.

Paddy Kilrain was quite the talent. She is still popular and known today even if she doesn’t play the area anymore. I wish she would make a full time comeback in the area’s music scene someday ’cause she is a talented lady and good songwriter.

Today we get crappy music such as Sirsy and Ten Year Vamp. Lame female fronted bands taking over the area which I don’t care about.

Back in 2006/2007, I used to gig all the time for acoustic shows around here. I kind of stopped gigging myself for all the reasons stated above. It’s a tough music scene. Too many delusional people out there who think they’re rock stars.

Back in 2006, 2007 we got crappy music by Kev Brock. Fortunately, he quit playing but we still get to hear him complain about a great
band like Sirsy…whose music he isn’t even familiar with. Go check out Kev’s crap on youtube if you can stand it.
